Adding banner under menu #3 in CMS v2.0

Is it possible to add a banner (image) instead of text in the left-side navigation menu? Also, I would like it to link to the different site (http://www.google.com) and open it in new window.

Is this possible?

edit templates/menu_3.tpl or templates/container.tpl (near $sMenu3) and add HTML code with banner
