How to create drop down navibar?

How can I add dropdown subcategories to my site? Like on this website: http://www.californianativeplants.com/

Under"About us" there are various categories to choose from. I have created subcategories but they just appear on my page and not as a dropdown.

I dont know what version I have....im just doing a site for a friend.
