If it possible that I can use a limit of number of product. I mean if I wonna sell a (one) book and someone order this book, this book should disapear from products list on a page. And if I wonna sell two book only two person can order this book, no one more. But if it impossible, what are you doing when orders are more then products?

Exactly, think, if two person ordered one book (if you have only one book in your stock), one of them get nothing. And I think QC can't let second person order book if all book are ordered. Of course book in this case is only example.

Difficulty arises in making the decision as to when to subtract the stock.
For example:
1. remove item from stock at the time the product is added to basket. While in basket, if quantity is updated then remove further items from stock (if available). Problem: what if the order is not completed and customer leaves cart without clearing down basket? how do you retrieve the stock?
2. remove items from stock when the order is completed. Problem: If more than one customer is after the same stock at once (ie both have it in their basket at the same time) only the first person to complete the order gets the stock. The second one won't know that he can't have his order fulfilled until after he has entered and submitted all his delivery details, at which point he will have to go back to the basket and amend/delete quantities (he will probably just go away!)
Any opinions or alternatives?

here's a option.
allow the stock to get to -5 produts, when a customer orders a product that is under the + stock level he get a message like : "sorry the product you selected is not in stock right now, you order will be sent with a 1 or 2 day's delay ".
Then a e-mail must go to de admin to tell him that the stock of a product is below 0.
A second thing is, if it posible to do so: Show the customer a alternative product, that he can select.

#1 I think, when customer add product to basket produck is automaticly remove from stock. Next problem is when order is not completed or customer leaves cart without clearing down basket. Hmm... QC holding products in customer basket some time even when customer donn't finish order or leave cart without close browser. (and I don't know how long system holding products in a basket when customer is unactive and his browser is still open)

that prolem can be fixed, when a order is complete the stock will redraw by 1, you must have the posibility that the stock can be under the 0 level.

I would have the item deleted from stock at final check out.
Then I think that I would put some statement under how many in stock on the product page, that appears after stock is under "3", maybe make this a changeable variable, that when a customer chooses an item under stock level a warning pops up as part of order (Due to limited stock of this item, your purchase is not guarenteed until you complete your order) or similar statement.
Just my 2 cents ......

Does this feature exist yet?
I want to create a website that sells one of a kind unique products and accepts only Paypal. I haven't had much luck finding anything that will remove the product from view once a successful purchase has taken place.
