Two news pages

I'm using two pages for news. One is in the content area and another on the left column. The problem is, that i wan't to show 10 news in content area but only 5 news in the left column which is always visible.

Is it possible to add another option in settings to regulate how much news is shown? Maybe to link it with page id?
