Issue with PHP misbehaving... error when saving

Good Day!

We have downloaded and installed QC 4.0 on a WIN 2003 server, with IIS 6.0.

We are running PHP 5.3.5 in FAST CGI mode.

The cart works very well, and we are happy with the result so far, but we are still testing.

We have one issue that we cannot seem to correct and I thought we could post here as
maybe someone else was having this same issue and could help.

I did search for this issue on the forum and only found 4 topics, none with a solution.

We can run the cart, display the products but have an issue with the ADMIN area.

Each time we make any changes in the SETTINGS and choose SAVE, the browser hangs
and we get an error retuned:
"The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers"

Our changes are completed, because when we go back to the ADMIN area again, they have been done.

This happens when we SAVE any Admin changes, such as new password, or Title name.
It also happens when we SAVE new products to the inventory.

If anyone could assist us in resolving this on our cart it would much appreciated.

This cart is running internally at the moment and is not posted to a public domain website.
So I cannot link here.

I have tried to be as thorough as I can here. If any more info is needed I will check
back here often to see responses and post more.

Many thanks for a Great Product!

the obvious advice here would be to check chmod/permissions.

also perhaps the server doesn't accept the kind of redirect that QC is using. it's usually the command "header(...);" with simple redirect order. This could be perhaps qualified by the server as an "incomplete set of headers".

Try how 1. search works,
2. order form works,
3. completing an order works.

all of these involve redirects at some point. If anything there doesn't work just like in admin, then it's probably the server not really working right.

That is some good advice. Thank you. :) I knew I would get a good response here!

I do know that we are running the site using an internal "server"name and not a FQDN (like www.not.com) with a different port other than port 80 for web.

Like this:
http://scooby:6700

Would this make a difference in the way the "headers" are porcessed with QC?

Ok, as you have asked, I went into the store and started a brand NEW order. The order process worked just fine. It even allowed me to chang my QUANTITY in the confirmation page before clicking submit. That works as well.

Then, I went into the Admin area and my new order shows. I can go into the order, chnange the quanity, comments, pricing, etc. When I click "Save and go to the list" it works fine. Updates and all is good.

BUT. If I make changes and choose the other button "Save", it hangs and times out with the error.

Any thoughts...?

This is easy to track now. I would have to go into sources, put
print "lala";exit;
..at various points of the script to see from which point specifically the script fails to continue. For that I would need FTP access though.

But it doesn't seem like a redirect problem anymore, since most redirects just work from what you wrote.

CHMOD to 777
“db/” - for this directory and all sub-direstories and files in it.
Just making sure it is set to all files.
Might solve your Issue.
