New column in products menu

Hello,
in the admin menu, I want to add a new column of the product overview.
I want to add product_available.

In templates\admin\products I have added:
</td><td class="product_available">
<input type="text" name="aProduct_available[$aData[iProduct]]" value="$aData[mProduct_available]" class="inputr" size="30" />
in the list environment and
<td class="product_available"><a href="?p=$p&amp;sSort=product_available">$lang[Product_available]</a></td>
in the had environment.

New the new field is displayed in the products overview, but unfortunaltely not the value.

Any hint is welcome.
