Upgrade 3.5 version

What is the preferred method when upgrading from QuickCart Free 3.50 to Ext 3.50 version. I have crawled both FAQ and Forums through, but have not found anything. So is there some document about this somewhere?

I was hoping to find some script in Ext package that would have done transfer automatic, but I did not find script nor advice. The FAQ lists only these old tips how to upgrade 2.0 ->3.0, and there is even some connverting tool.
From 2.0 ->3.0
http://opensolution.org/Quick.Cart/forum/?p=readTopic&nr=4961
Converter 2.0 ->3.0
http://opensolution.org/download,en,18.html?sFile=Quick.Cart/other/converter_v2.x-v3.0.zip

But as far as I know these do not help when upgrading inside same 3.5 level.

I have found that 3.5 Free _does_not_ get upgraded if I simply copy my old \db and \files directories to the new one. Several errors appear.

If there is no automated scripts nor advice available for these very common and usual Upgrade cases, then I think also this should be mentioned in the FAQ section.

Thanks for any suggestions how to do the upgrade in some planned order and logic.

There aren't free script which can make conversion of Quick.Cart database to Quick.Cart.Ext database. OpenSolution have this kind of converter but it is not so simple to use and You have to contact via email to get more informations.

We advice to select paid version from the beggining if You want use it. We offer making conversion of database but it is not free because it is quite complicated.

Well that's a bit of a bugger. I've just setup an online shop for my brother-in-law with QC free version, so he could see if it was what he wanted, thinking I could just upgrade to the paid version later if he was going to get serious about it.

Wouldn't it encourage people to upgrade to the paid version if they new it was as simple as running a script?

well, you're probably not listening, since it's NOT as simple as running a script. Script will probably get you only so far, the rest must be tweaked in the system. I've done several conversions by hand using several tools and it was nowhere simple nor easy. Always takes at least 1 day to get everything set up right.
