how to add news and latest product on main page?

how to add news or some text and latest product on main page? and why the online stats & counter of my web is being reset itself? its 3 times that my counter reset from 3000 to 0.

news - this was many times
latest product - read this:

create separate template for example "pages_home.tpl" and paste to CONTAINER block variable $sLastProduct

After install plugin lastProduct

This will work only in QC v3.x. If you have QC v1.x then this is not possible.

Well i use 1.4 reload as the multi plugins already installed :)
Is the any way to make the main page contain image,news and latest product? just like http://www.kamaranakku.com/web/
