Data could not be found - after remove categorie

Wenn I have installed quick.cart v.3.3 and remove backend the categorie "Tents" I get frontend on the homepage; the message "Data could not be found".
Wenn I try to make backend a new page / new categorie this message doesn't
disappear, it's still there. Only wenn I re-install the software once again then it's okay. Is it not strange that you can not remove the (sub)categorie "Tents"
without having a "error" message on the homepage?! What can I do to solve this?

you must have that page set as a 'front page' in admin>settings>pages
