Send email to client does not work

I have QC2.0 ext and can not get the sendordertoclient plug-in to work. I get no errors but I receive no mail.
Admin mail functions as normal.
Any suggestions? (and yes, i will upgrade to 3.x as soon as I find someone to do the job)

yes there is one suggestion: try a clean 2.0 ext on your server with the proper plugin installed and with some test product. report results back here.
