This is first time I work with php so forgive me if im noobish :)
I have read the installation file, instruction page and searched this forum but cant get any answers from there.

To the question:
I have downloaded and uploaded the free Quick.Cart 3.1 to my friends server (runs php5)
Its uploaded to a subdirectory eg. www.websiteadress.com/shop/

It is uploaded in Binary form and I did the CHMOD 777 on the "db", "config", "lang" and "files" directorys and subdirectorys and subfiles.
I didnt do any other changes.

After that I logged the webshop but It doesnt seems like it finds the css-file or templates that is preinstalled with the download.
Neither the Shop or the Administration panel has any design see screenshot at:
http://img361.imageshack.us/my.php?image=quickcartln8.jpg

Is that because its uploaded to a subdirectory or do I have to do any other changes somewhere?

Can anyone please advice me?

you have a problem with .htaccess file. Edit it and remove the very first line. That should do it. Report here if successfull, I need feedback on this.

I love you!
So far I checked it works perfect after removing the line :)
Thank you so much.

Hi, I have same problem but with one difference.
My instalation on localhost works fine, everythink seems to be great, so I registred a domain a hosting, put all files on them and the problem was there. everytink in text mode is OK, but no template was inicialised. Looks like this faq. I removed first line in htaccess but there“s no effect. Anyone help ? This situation is same when I put core files downloaded from your server in hole format, no template ..

now try to upload the original file and delete one line, then another, until you find out which kills your website.

I read 'made CHMOD 777', or 'add CHMOD 777'.
Can anyone tell me how I can do that? Where and what should I do?

use total commander. Go to remote FTP, mark your files or directories, choose in Total Commander menu Files > Change Attributes > enter 777, press Enter.
