posting news on the homepage

Hi all. I have looked and searched the forum in and out before posting.

I am trying to add the 5 last pages (short description) from a category ("news" category) to my homepage, just underneath the product menu.

Anyone know how to achieve this. I have come across similar requests from other users.

again the obvious question comes: do you really use the old 0.3.1 version?
if yes, I cannot help, that version is too outdated.

What I want is to be able to pull out the entries from a category called "NEWS" and have them displayed on my homepage.

ok,

1. Rename the Producers menu to "news" (config/lang_xx.php)

2. create a new page - the news article, you can make it hidden or add it as a sub-page to any other page you want. Remember the page ID of that article.

3. Create new page, called "news headline1", add it to the newly renamed menu "news", while creating the page, add following link to the field "address":
http://yoursite.com/?anyTextWhatsoever,XX
..where XX is the page ID of the hidden page - the news article.

Voila...
