Hi! How I can add images thumbnails an short category description to the category list. I want create new template, where most be realized big categories menu in center of the page.. After clicking user can see products list.. Thank you!!

you can probably do it if you integrate HTML tags and CSS into category name. You also need to change an admin template to allow for A LOT longer category names.

This is just a suggestion, I didn't try it. If you don't understand what I wrote, don't even bother asking more questions about it, learn it yourself.

BTW, your solution presupposes you want to modify the left. But you also can create a page where you "manually" list all the categories with colorful links and description, that is perhaps the coolest and cleanest way to do what you need.
