I've been having numerous customers trying to add items to the basket on my website and it's not working. My website host/designer is impossible to get a hold of. Can someone help me get my site back up and running please.

Can you provide its URL as we might see if any error messages generate?

www.graphicsbyid.com is the website
I did just get an order so I am assuming it's ok but what would make that happen just for future reference?

I'm also having another issue.
When I sign into the admin panel and click orders, the status is no longer there. For me to see my new orders I have to click orders then pending. They are not going in order anymore either. The order ID's started back at 1 once that happened......

Heya ned....
Seems like you are pretty knowledgeable, can I email you or can you email me? I have a few questions as well. My email is talia@graphicsbyid.com

Talia713 - First ... You have old version of Quick.Cart. Please use Quick.Cart v2.x. We are working on v3.0 now.
You are using Quick.Cart v1.4 loaded. This version is changed and after adding to basket You will be redirected to product details. If You want to move to basket then edit actions_client/orders.php and delete this:

      echo "<script type='text/javascript' language='javascript'>
      history.go(-1);
      </script>"
;
      exit;

About orders id. I think Your db files corupt. You need to upload backup

Guess that's where the problem comes in. I didn't set up or create this site. It was created for me. I have no control over what the person used.....but If I am able to make these changes on my own I'd like to as getting in touch with him is impossible! Nice guy eh?

If anyone that can help me out is willing to shoot me an email I'd greatly appreciate it. I'd like to get the site how it needs to be...I just need a little direction.
These changes, do they take place in the admin section or in the console section?

When you are in your admin area are the older orders there? Use an editor an look at your db/orders.php file - is the listings of all the orders there? does it start with (1$xxxxxxxxx$1$) or something beginning with 1.

Treewood may be right, you may have a corrupted db file - your listings of orders (client wise) is contained in the orders_ext.php file, look at that the previously placed orders and details are there (hopefully) and may be salvagable.

Best of luck.....

Did you look at the files?

idaryl, yes the orlder orders are still there however, when I click on orders, the names and order id are there but nothing is under the STATUS section.

I have no clue how to use an editor. I know how to migrate through the admin section so if someone could tell me exactly what to do I will do it.
Thanks for your help!

What are you trying to do? First you say the site is not working -- then you say it is -- and the orders are being processed -- then you say the orders status is not there (but how did you see the recent order if the status is not working - ??) then you say for someone to help you get the site "the way it shpuld be" (whatever that may be)

If you have lost your orders (and Treewood told you that maybe your orders.php file might be corrupt -- http://opensolution.org/Quick.Cart/forum/?p=readTopic&nr=3632 -- http://opensolution.org/Quick.Cart/forum/?p=readTopic&nr=1369 -- ) then the only way you can get the old orders details back is to use an editor to open the db files and copy out the contents to retreive the info.

So (exactly) what is it that you are after?

Here is the problem. I was at order id 2036. I signed in to the admin panel the following day after I received an email stating I had a new order!
I clicked on orders and the NEW order was not there, neither was the STATUS of any of the old orders. The old orders are still under orders however I cannot click on the status of the orders to see the details of the order. For me to get my NEW orders I have to click orders then pending. Does that make sense now??

OK yeah it does - it looks like (and this really s__ks!) that your orders.php file has gone south - this appears to,be a problem that only having a back-up of an earlier copy of the php page can fix (do you have one?) Here's an idea? make a copy of the orders.php and rename it orders.txt - then post a link to it jere - I'll copy it and do a couple of tests for you - no guarantees - but - I'll give it a whirl - OK?

I'm glad that made sense, but now here is where the next problem comes into play. I am not the one who built the site so I am not sure how to make the needed/necessary changes. If you can direct me, I can do it.

Thats not what I'm talking about - my tests are going to cover copying the raw data to a new file - re-inserting it to a new cart for results - and the re-insert to an existing /working cart to verify - if it works then you'll have your database back - all that simply cannot be accomplished from the admin panel - and..... it would simply take me way tooooo long to show you how (especially if you say you "I have no clue how to use an editor")

kapish!

but if you are hesitant -- well ok - no biggie - I offered

So basically I'm SOL!
