I like this product and it could be very useful if the db was turned into mysql. Are you planning on having an alternative version?

I would be interested in doing this if you could back me up a little how much work there is and what will be affected.

With Mysql there would be a possibility to have more products.

i think mysql would be better because it would be easier to write own plugins and change php code...

I think it is saver then chmod the db/ dir to 777. And more people know how to use it so more plugins can be designed.

I guess this project is for people who don't have access to a MySQL database.
This is the only decent flatfile shopping cart, so leave it as it is. There are plenty of MySQL based shopping carts out there, so if you need to use MySQL, look elsewhere...

Where are the orders kept since there is no MYSQL database? Maybe there is a way to import the Orders export file (or whatever Quick Cart calls it) into Access or something.

Hey, I've just started playing with Quick.Cart and now I'm an expert. <Just kidding>.

Anyway, the orders are kept in files in the db directory - I'm trying to get information about the data structures of these files, see my post from today.

xSQL is good and essential when several webshops on different servers are using the same database.

SQLlite (http://php.net/sqlite) is on by default in the most PHP distro. IMHO it could be a good solution for both SQL and flat file supporters.

gerzson - we had poll and most peoples vote to stay in Flat Files and dont use SQLite to our scripts

Don't use SQLite use standard MySQL 4. This is on almost every host now.

That poll is ok, but believe me you have an additional userbase coming out with just a databaselayer for mysql!!
