Orders not being emailed to Admin

For some reason when orders are placed, they are not sent to the admin email address. What could be the problem?

The other problem that I have is that no orders actually show up in the "orders" section of the control panel. I know orders have been placed and items purchased, so there should be something there. Test orders do not even show up. What could be the problem here?

bigpund - do You have selected "yes" option: inform admin about new order in configuration?

Yes, that was the first thing I made sure of and the email is correct, before you ask that too.

bigpund - check contact page and try to send email to You. If You recieved email then we have problem. If not then read:
