amount of subcategories

Is it possible some how to display total amount of subcategories i have under main category?
example:

category (3)
subcategory
subcategory
subcategory

That would be great if possible.

noobert - no it is not possible. It will be much work if i understand You correctly. Maybe screenshot to display what You want.

Thanks treewood. I meant much like how Oscommerce shows the categories.
Category name and if subcategories, number show how many of them.
But in Oscommerce numbers is only for products. Is that possible in Quick.Cart?
To show how many products under category?

noobert - like i said ... for subcategories or products in category it is not possible without big modification
