Image uploading doesn't work

I have installed and tested Quick Cart on three different servers now, and image uploading does not work on any of them. Yes, I set the permissions of all content in the folders "files", "db" and "config" to 777.

Doesn't "GD Support enabled" and "GD Version bundled (2.0.28 compatible)" in PHP info mean the servers meets the "gd2" requirement?

What am I missing here?

All right, after manually creating the folder "products" inside the "files"-folder, I'm finally able to upload images. Great!

Next problem: the large images won't display in the gallery. What's up with that?

Turns out the large images display OK in Firefox and Explorer, but not in Safari. Anyone know of a way to hack the code to work on all modern browsers?
