Parse Error Trying To Add a Product

Trying to install Quick, but when I go to add a product I get a blank screen. Looking at the error log it looks like this:
PHP Parse error: parse error, unexpected $ in /home/tjb24/shop/core/products-admin.php on line 1

Everything else seems to work correctly. Any ideas?

all you have to do is upload it in binary mode to your webserver and it will be ok
problem was solved on forum many times before
