Do you know how to display categories on main page in the same way as products are displayed and in the same way display subcategories when category is clicked?
There was a plugin called firstPageCategories, but only for version 0.2, and doesn't work with 1.x and 2.0.. after few experiments with converting it for these releases I gave up.
Any ideas how to achieve it? Is it possible? I'll be thankful for any response.

I don't know how to do it using the QuickCart system but an easy way to do this would be to create your main page (e.g. name = home) then use html to create the links to the categories yourself on that page.

mhm that's an idea:) if I don't make it to work with the database I'll have to do that.. but I wouldn't like to :/

This is how I did it, no-one here even bothered to help with it:
Then to stop it going back to the original product page by editing config_form.tpl in admin folder. Remove the table rows that contain all info in regards to start page.
