What is the equivalent CHMOD 777 or how do i change the directory permissions to 777 on a windows server please ?

Peewee - on windows server You dont need to give chmod 777

oh thanks, that gives me another problem then, my pictures will not upload? I have edited the DB file and done the upload manually which worked fine but cannot do it through the admin console, sny ideas ?

sorry to be a dummy treewood, can you tell me how i can find out if gd2 is installed on my windows server ?

i have the line:

extension=php_gd2.dll

in php.ini

sorry just to be clear, even with the above and a jpg file of 23k it still does not work, any ideas please?

no need to re-start, it was already like this..... i'm getting confused now, could give you site details if you think it would help as quite a few people seem to have similar problems and i am more than happy for you to take a look at whatever you wish. I can do the process manually but i would not trust my wife to do it safley if you know what i mean !:)
