how to add a new input field

I am trying to add new input fields. I have modified, db/_pages.def.php and added the new field variable there at the end, however, after saving a couple of pages, i am getting Fatal error: Allowed memory size of ... bytes exhausted. The previous messed up the database structure. Any ideas how to add new input fields. Thank you in advance.

I notice you are using Quick Cms, where do you need new input fields for? For admin?

Yes, adding extra text fields to the admin page. See example below.

So basically, i am trying to add a date field and a publication field when creating a new page when logging in as the admin.
