Image in menu list

I would like doing something like:

if ($nameofmenu == "this") then menu_templete = "menu1.tpl" (normal name shown)
if ($nameofmenu == "that") then menu_templete = "menu1-special.tpl" (shown name with label "NEW")

I hope you will understand me, i just would like show any label like "NEW" or picture of star next to name of menu in menu list or change color of one line in menu list.

I am wrote about big menu on the left side, but can be good for somebody everywhere. Thx

Michal Siman :: ITServis. - if I understand you properly, you can do this by changing css file. First category in left manu has <dt class="l1" > second has <dt class="l2" > next <dt class="l3" > ... and last category has <dt class="lL" >, so you can in templates/default.css set for some category special background with image or a picture with star.
